Dennis Jennings
has been instrumental in the commercialisation of IP in
a number of university-based companies.
Dennis
Jennings has focussed in recent years on high technology
start-up companies, both as an early small investor,
and as a director. He was the founding Chairman of
both WBT Systems Ltd. and NTera Ltd (previously Nanomat
Ltd.).
He is currently a member of the board of a number of
early stage technology companies.
As Director of Computing
Services in University College Dublin (1977 - 1999)
he was responsible for the university IT infrastructure
with a staff of up to 90 people and a total turnover
of up to €4.5 million. He is an Internet pioneer,
having been actively involved in the start-up of research
networks in the US (NSFNET), Europe (EARN, Ebone) and
Ireland (HEANET).
More recently, he was the first Chairman
of CENTR – the Council of European National Top-Level
Domain Registries (1999/2000).
Mr Jennings is responsible
