4th Level
Ventures University Seed Fund is Ireland’s first venture
capital fund exclusively dedicated to supporting promising
high potential start-up and early stage companies arising
from research in Irish universities, research hospitals,
research institutes, and the Institutes of Technology.
Our Experience
The 4th Level Venture’s founders, Dennis Jennings
and Ray Naughton, with their extensive experience of
these early stage processes, are ideally placed to
support and assist researchers as they develop their
ideas / IP / technology / proof of concept / prototype
to the point where it is appropriate to consider the
formation of a campus or spin-off company.
Support
Working with and supporting the university industry
liaison teams – e.g. Research and Innovation
Services in TCD, Nova/UCD, and the DIT Project Development
Centre (PDC) – 4th Level Ventures provides support
to academic researchers during the very early stages
of the development of a high potential business idea.
4th Level Ventures also
provide assistance to the founders of high potential
companies to ensure that they evaluate
the potential target market, the route to market, and
business opportunity before forming a campus company.
The 4th Level Ventures team also offers training workshops
and seminars to researchers on campus, in conjunction
with the university industry liaison teams. This support
is provided on a “no rights / no obligations” basis.
For high potential campus companies, the 4th Level Ventures
team will provide advice and support to the company founders
to enable them develop the business plan, build the executive
team, establish the company, and prepare their company
for early stage investment.
